I wanted to make just one point regarding Europe: some of the largest EU countries, France, Italy and Spain, have youth unemployment rates between 20% and 30%. This seems to be a much bigger problem for their labor markets than the fact that older workers are less likely to change jobs.

I believe one of the reasons for high youth unemployment is also the prevalence of a gerontocracy, both in private and public sectors, including family-owned companies and political parties. It is very hard to thrive under this leadership demographic.
